Call me an old hippie, but they just don’t make ’em like this any more. I first saw Pink Floyd 43 years ago in 1973, when I was 15. David Gilmour was then and still is one of the most outstanding guitarists of all time and still knows how to create a spectacular show. Mind you, I missed the inflatable pig, and the large scale model spitfire diving over the audience, trailing smoke and fireworks and crashing in a blaze of pyrotechnic glory above the stage! Unfortunately due to the scarcity of tickets, I had to go on my own, which was a shame as I thought of friends who would have appreciated the show and ‘wished they were here’.
